Albion under-21s coach Simon Rusk will be part of the first team’s promotion push for the rest of the season.
Boss Chris Hughton has been impressed by Rusk and has no plans to appoint a permanent replacement for Nathan Jones, who left as first team coach last month to become manager of Luton Town.
The Seagulls have taken 13 points out of 18 since Welshman Jones departed for Kenilworth Road and Rusk stepped into the role.
Former Crawley midfielder Rusk will be in Hughton’s backroom group again at Cardiff today and at Bristol City on Tuesday.
“He still has responsibilities with the under-21 team and will take their games if they don’t coincide with ours.
“He will certainly be involved with us for the two games.
“At the moment things have gone okay. Nathan is a miss because he was very good for us but you have to adapt.
“Simon has been great and has really enjoyed being involved with the first team.”
