Ernie Tippett will be the new manager of Rushden and Diamonds. Ernie was formerly with Wimbledon FC and is a UEFA "A" coach. He will be assisted by Stuart Robson as coach and by John Bolle. Stuart was a former midfield player with Arsenal, West Ham and Coventry and John was a professional with Leyton Orient.

The Board has greatly appreciated the contribution of Barry Hunter since the departure of Brian Talbot. They wish to thank Barry for his efforts and leadership as interim player manager and wish the new team and the players every success for the remaining matches.

Who?! :jester:

surely you recognise him................................

Rushden and Diamonds announce that an unnamed consortium of businessmen is taking over RDFC following sugar daddy Max Griggs's departure. Legal formalities are expected to take a month.

Meanwhile, at the new consortium's request, a management team from Wimbledon FC is taking over with immediate effect.

MK is less than 20 miles from Rushden/Irthlingborough.

R&D fans smell a rat.

Sounds like a character from Whizzer & Chips.

Whizzer & Chips

:lolol:

Haven't heard that name for years. All old football cartoons were the same though, be it that, Roy of the Rovers or even the Bash Street Kids.

Players had names like Potter or Ginger, and the crowd would make remarks like "Splendid save from Tippett!" and "Ha! United are sure to win the cup this year!".
