Roy Hodgson campaign

The more I think about this, the more i like it (waits for someone to tell me that he wouldn't come here in a million years) but if it's true about him wanting to come back to English football, this would be fantastic. You can see just Madjeski going "Damn, why didn't I think of him?"

Anyway I found an article written for the Telegraph in 2000, suggesting him for the England job pre-Sven.

"Hodgson's qualities are certainly suited to the demands of short, sharp but sporadic stints with players. A master of organisation and preparation, he can get over a coherent message quickly. As the former Blackburn and England midfielder Tim Sherwood put it: "Even if the England players might not be certain about him now, one training session with Roy would change their minds."

Me like, me like. Particularly re the organisation and preparation, which is what SC gave us.

Little chance.

Wage demands will be too steep.
What does he know about Nationwide League Football (although he was the manager of Bristol City in the early 1980's)??

Am worried about Mr Rix though.... not him please

don't get carried away he's hardly a RECENT champions league manager and surely if it was him Dick Knight would have said former INTERNATIONAL manager?? other things to note is that he has managed at lower league level before (and was rubbish) and he's from Croydon.

just call me the fountain.

Whats the f***ing point of appointing someone who has little or no involvement in British football (I'm talking Nationwide)...in years

We want someone who has current links with nationwide clubs, knows about youth players in the prem and generally good contacts inside the game.

To me that leaves only about a handful of candidates :

Ian Dowie
Joe Kinnear
Steve Cotterill
Lou Macari

Yeah but DK said he wants to sign someone that would see us into Falmer. So if Hodgson were to accept that then great.

What mangers agree at interview and do in practice are two completley different things. No gurrantee that he will be here in 3/4/5 years time

Everybody has got to start sometime - and while I would agree with Tony's L M's list we did not do too badly by a certain young untried manager in the past called Alan Mullery who took over from another who had built the team.

So why not take a chance on a newly retired or nearly retired player - he could be the next Micky Adams.

if your giving a hint to Tony Adams, i think it would be a great choice.

Roy Hodgson was last seen heading towards Denmark with a block of butter strapped to each foot.
