I think John Stones seems to be the next Long term England centre back, but it does seem like there is a place up for grabs next to him with Jagielka on his way out and Smalling & Phil Jones being utter shitehouse.

I agree although it doesn't make any logical sense. With so many poor teams in the PL and so few English players it would make sense to look at the best in the Championship.

Why not call up more of those players to train with the full squad so you can see if they can cut it with them or not? I think people would be surprised.
