Liam Rosenior is itching for his first Championship start for Albion as he heads back to Ipswich.
The versatile full-back signing from Hull is likely to be on the bench again today at Portman Road after 90 minutes in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup exit at Walsall.
Rosenior said: “I’m here to play. Bruno’s been fantastic on the right, Gaetan (Bong) on the left, but I know my qualities and I know that I’m one of the top right-backs in this division so it has been hard not to play.
“I’m sure in the coming weeks and months I’ll get the chance to impress.”
Rosenior, 31, spent a near-season on loan to Ipswich from Reading in 2009-10. He said: “I had a great time in terms of my family and being there. I felt we could have done better that year as a team.
“They’ve got a very strong fanbase and they are a very good community club, similar to here.
“It wouldn’t surprise me to see them up there again at the end of the season.
Today’s table-topping showdown is the first leg of a double-header against former employers for Rosenior.
Hull, where he spent five memorable years, are the visitors for Albion’s next match after the international break at the Amex on September 12. The club are dedicating the game to the victims of the Shoreham Airshow disaster.
