As their contracts expired in the summer, did they get new contracts ie are we still paying them or are they just training (or not as the case may be!!) with us?

anyone know?

I think they were extended short term awaiting fitness.

Rodger might be OK but I am afraid I find it difficult to see Blackwell playing again.

Yep, I have the same feeling Beach Hut. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if neither played again! :(

I have the same feeling. Perhaps it is time that the club cut their losses with these two players. We can't be a charity forever although it would be sad not to see Rodger or Blackwell play for us again.

i think roger can still add something to our squad

Maybe...but I think that we already have players that are better than Rodger and he will take some time to reach full match fitness if, indeed, he ever does.

If our two first choice midfielders ger injuried it means oatway will be our only back up, would rather have roger than oatway even if as back up

Do you think they ever existed?

I'm beginning to think they were made up
just to make us feel better when we lost.

'Gutted about todays performance, I wish Blackwell
and Rodger were fit'

'Everything will be ok when Rodger and Blackwell
play again'

'We won't invade Iraq, Rodger and Blackwell are
unfit, they are in light training starting next week'

'Bloody Prescott hasn't made his mind up, he's
waiting to talk to Blackwell and Rodger, apparently
they're back in training next week and he'll catch
up with them then'

'I saw a flying pig the other day,but more unbelievable I heard
Blackwell and Rodger were back in training, surely
this can't be true? Anyway I must go as my wife Kate
Moss is cooking a Death by Chocolate cake'

:D

Lookin' good for Simon Rodger. He's back in light traini.....oops.

simon rodger should be back in contention for a place soon.

dean blackwell on the other hand may never play again, which i think is a great shame. a quality player!

I would be very surprised if either played again.

Maybe I'm just a heartless bastard but I still cannot believe we let Dean sign his 1-year contract AFTER he'd done his knee. Are we completely mad. We may as well just open the window and throw money out.

Get rid of both of them I say. I agree that we were completely stupid to give Blackwell a year's contract after he damaged his knee. What other employer would be as daft...especially one with no money.
