Just goes to show how daft all those people who came back at those of us criticising Potter’s tactics this time last year during our horror run with “well who would replace him, nobody could do better” were
It's almost as if they don't actually know every manager in world football.
Or for that matter by how much a ponderous low scoring team can be improved.

That said we don't get RdZ without Mr Potter.

Great point.

The sensible answer given was “It’s not my job to know”.

Thankfully TB/PB have that knowledge.

Chelsea having the same problem Potter’s tactics don’t provide many goals hence the zillion draws. RDZ plays the ball quickly between the lines, Potter by the time we got up the pitch so we’re eleven of the opposition.

Roberto would have watched a load Potterball games before his interview.
I'd have loved to have been there to see that.

Sure I wouldn't have understood a word shouted at the TV, but I reckon I'd have got the general gist, along with the occasional appreciative nod.

Very happy with his start. Also a great situation for me: do well in the second half of the season and finish high and I'll be deligthed, finish lower than 9th and the consolation price would be laughing at those cocky people now saying "GP was a fraud" or "held the team back".

Brighton factually.....

Hi Swanny,

do you still follow Potter with the same enthusiasm you did when he first came to Brighton?
have you grown to love Brighton and feel part of the family ?
or do you just drop in from time to time, and now spend most of your time on Shed End ?
whats the difference between us and them as fans, with your interaction with them ?
genuine question, no malice involved.

1. No. He's at Chelsea FC, the arguably most unlikeable club in the league.
2. Going to have to pass on that question for the time being but there's certainly no other team in the PL I'd rather watch / discuss / read about
3. I'm here and like it, and spend at maximum 10 minutes per week on "Shed End"
4. They're (95% of them) idiots 24/7 365 days a year regardless of what the subject is. That is not the case here.

Yep we are only 92% idiots and many have days off rostered.

I am really beginning to warm to De Zerbi. After nice guys Hughton and Potter, this is exactly the sort of manager we need. One who not only has the tactics and ideas, but the fire and passion to drive his players to enact down to the last detail.
It's still early days, but he appears to have something special about him, which ultimately means that he will take us further than the other two did.
What is interesting is that he seems to be using the loss to Charlton as a way to get more out of his team. I think GP would have made some emotionally intelligent comment about losing in the cup (it is what it is, take the rough with the smooth etc). RdZ clearly made it plain that he wasn't going to let that happen again. Hence the ruthless display today.
Also, (and there was already an element of this by the end of the Potter era) we no longer settle for one goal. We seem to be scoring one, then another in quick succession in recent games, taking games away from the opposition.

TalkSport were just having a discussion about Potter/Chelsea, and how they're struggling for goals, and the suggestion was that with us currently continuing the nice football Potter had us playing but now RDZ has added goals to our game that Todd Boehly could do a lot worse than raiding Brighton again for our Roberto if they did decide to sack Mr Potter... and audible ''oh f*** off'' left my mouth. If that becomes a genuine idea for Chelsea I think I might just give up on football.

Nothing is out of the question however unlikely it sounds! Wasn't De Zerbi on Chelsea's radar (allegedly)? Supposing the unthinkable does happen Potter is sacked De Zerbi is given permission to talk to Chelsea and its de ja vu. Would we welcome Potter back to Brighton?
