The FA Cup fourth round sees our Road to Wembley feature return and we continue on the trail of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Our Road to Wembley feature has already witnessed two giant-killings, and there is another chance this weekend as League One leaders Brighton travel to Championship Watford.

Brighton's main aim this season remains promotion, with their wonderful new stadium ready to open in the summer.

But the magic of the cup is far from a forgotten feature on the South Coast, according to star striker Glenn Murray.

"We know there will be thousands of fans travelling to Watford, Brighton is not that far and they will be going there with hope," he explained to us.

"For us, the players, I think the magic of the cup is very much still there, and I think it has been this season.

"Obviously we had that last round with Portsmouth, which was great for us and we would love that to continue at Watford.

"As players you always aspire to play at a better level, and the chance to test yourselves against a supposedly better side is always something to look forward to."

Brighton dispatched of Portsmouth in the last round and, despite the differences in their leagues, many thought they were favourites.

That presents Brighton with a chance of progressing into the sixth round, and Murray is keen for them to grasp that opportunity.

"We can win, we know we can but you have to respect a side from a higher level," he continued.

"But obviously we have a chance to reach the sixth round, I am 27 and I have never been this far in the FA Cup, so it would be great for us to get into the next round."

Dubbed the 'Lower League Berbatov' Murray admits that the club are very much focussed on promotion but admits that they are not ignoring the cup.

"Promotion is what we want, we know that - that has been our aim all season and it remains so," he said.

"But you can take a lot of confidence out of games like this, and no doubt that can rub off onto other things."

Focused
He does though revert to the old football adage of taking one game at a time.

He explained: "We are very much like that, we take each game as it comes, each match is different and we are fully focused on that when it comes.

"The gaffer prepares us for every match, and we know what we need to do."

Murray himself has been tipped to switch to the Championship, with his current deal due to expire in the summer.

But he is insistent that he is fully focused on Brighton, adding: "I am not thinking about the end of the season, all that matters is Brighton at the moment and helping them.

"I want to get this club into the Championship, I don't take any notice of stories or links. Yes I am out of contract, but that is very much part and parcel of football nowadays, it is not unusual."

Stay tuned to Our Road to Wembley next week when we will bring you all the reaction from Vicarage Road...

Thanks Chucky.

Interesting piece that, must be the longest interview he has ever give. It does sound from this interview that he'll be here to the end of the Season at least.

Looks like the club and Murray have agreed to keep their options open with regard to his contract. No doubt NSC will be in binfest meltdown about Glenn's contract as soon as Bennett's future is definite :lolol:
