This won't be the most popular thread, but PB kept going pretty much until the bitter end.
If you'd seen him live, which I've had the pleasure of (I think) doing four times, you'd know about it.
Ear-splitting genius.

I've seen him live too.... some years ago.He was certainly original. I remember that he came up as a question on University Challenge a couple of years ago (the contestants had no idea).

A long life, well spent

I saw him live about 10 years or so ago, from a recommendation from your good self.

Wish I’d made the effort to see him during his residency at cafe oto in Feb. His health was declining.
First saw him in 96 in Manchester and then a couple times more recently in Brighton with Heather Leigh and then his trio, Full Blast.
Sad news. But a long career, he wasvstill going strong at 82, and a vast back catalogue.
