Mark Yates has challenged Crawley’s strikers to rise to the occasion as they resume life without Rhys Murphy.
But the Reds admits both his team and the Oldham striker benefited from their brief association.
Yates is not saying too much about any attempts to bring the forward back after his productive loan stint, which ended with the 4-2 defeat at Barnet.
He told The Argus: “We all thanked him for his efforts and his time here.
“I know he really enjoyed it.
“He liked what we are trying to do here.
“We’ve been good for him and he has been good for us.
“We’ve just got to see what comes over the next few weeks.”
Former Albion striker Shamir Fenelon could partner Matt Harrold in attack but Yates says Reds will be prepared as they host Stevenage on Boxing Day.
He added: “We knew this was coming. Other boys always get a look in, get a chance.
“We do lots of finishing drills and attacking phases so they are all well-versed in what we are doing and how we are doing it.

“We just need to decide who we are going with and hopefully they will come up with the sort of performance that Rhys was delivering.”Yates said plans are in place for the January transfer window.
Now he aims to help Reds maintain their good home form.
He said: “It’s important we first of all concentrate on Stevenage and hopefully keep the momentum that has been building for the last couple of months here.”
