You can fight your losing corner if you like. :lolol:

Don't let conclusive proof get in the way of your opinion though, eh!?

look at the map of Southampton though - if you wanted to include all the extra areas that you have with Reading the nsurely Eastleigh and all its surrounding areas would make it bigger.

The argument is slightly bizarre in that you set your own boundaries for Reading but all other (larger) places should abide by the set boundaries?

Ah! That map is the key to instantaneous conclusive proof! ;)

Trust me, having lived there for a fair few years and with loads of local articles on it, I'm pretty sure I'm right!

Except that Eastleigh is not even slightly part of Southampton. If you included that then we'd include the whole of Wokingham as well! Already thought of that one when going around all the other places in the south!

Of course Eastleigh is part of Southampton with no discernable boundary in the built up areas apart from an arbitrary boundary set by local authorities. Eastleigh, with over 100,000 people in it is overspill in the same way that Reading should be part of London.

Who cares if Reading is the 3rd largest? It just means you can pack more w***ers into it.

Reading is north of the A27, so it's not even southern.

I thought Bournemouth was actually bigger than Brighton anyway? There's just not much there!!!

They're roughly the same size. Add Hove to the city boundaries (i.e. like it or not - we do live in the City of Brighton & Hove), B&H is much bigger. Pedants in Bournemouth would add Boscombe and Poole to their equation...

All conurbations have over 200,000 inhabitants.

Reading's under 200,000.

Actually, I don't care.
