Albion centre-half Glen Rea has completed his loan move to Southend.
The 20-year-old trained with them this morning and will be with them until the beginning of the January.
Rea*could make his debut at Coventry on Monday after two Capital One Cup appearances for the Seagulls, the first at Southend and the latest in Tuesday's exit at Walsall.
Albion boss Chris Hughton said: "Glen has made great progress over the past year or so, both with the club and on the international scene.
"He had a terrific pre-season and he's been excellent in both League Cup ties he's played. Now it's right for his development to get some regular league football, and at Southend, a club who won promotion last season, he will be able to do that, and with a very experienced manager in Phil Brown."
