i wouldnt say i want him to leave, more of a fact of,if he can get all these millions of pounds in sponsership for the new staduim, where does all the loose change from coppel+bobby go,surely its common sence that a little investment to get out this monkey league will be enough,if he's mr confident about the ground funds, then wots 250k??

Falmer
If we get out of this monkey league we will probably end up back in it the year after, as until we get Falmer, we cannot afford large wages and transfer fees that are necessary to compete in Division One.

A shit load more than anybody in this league (most of whom have their own stadiums and don't have to pay rent from their gate reciecpts, were not stripped of all their assets 7 years ago, haven't had to pay over 2 million quid for a public enquiry etc etc) have paid for players this season. That's 'wot'.

ha ha,its nice to see you've been taken in by all the mumbo-jumbo that the club feed you chapman.

tommorows saturday chapman,ok ok thank you brighton & hove albion!

im not expecting miracles far from it,just we dont pay £450 to watch a team with no investment+no ambition in the playing side,i do not believe there is not enough money to go on the playing side,im a little concernerd if the two dont go hand in hand+by that i mean, ground being built aswell as decent team,we will have a tin-pot team+a nice ground,gr8!

And just who do you think wants to come and play for the mighty Albion whilst they are at Withdean.
Once we have the stadium, the new players will follow.
I think we have to trust DK on this one, He is Brighton through and through and I know he won't let us down.
Be Patient and pray we get the go ahead for Falmer.

What i am saying is that there is no possible way that this club can seriously have a future if everything is not put into the stadium push. The Falmer decision is the most important thing that is going to happen this year, not where we finish in the league (please tell me you agree with that). We NEED the stadium for the football club to be viable.

Falmer 1st
Team 2nd

That's how it is, that's how it should be.

Falmer = long term survival and the ability to compete at the highest level (every now and then).

Team = A five minute high on a Saturday afternoon and bragging rights in the office through the week.

For Christ's sake we only have to wait until the beginning of next year and we'll know exactely where we stand.

Fair enough, that's a better post. But I believe that trying to balance the clubs accounts at the moment is extremely hard and going into Falmer on an even keel will be a lot more beneficial that anything else.

People always say "well we got £250k for Coppell, so we can get a few players in for that".

Wages alone will be £1500/wk minimum for any half decent 2nd Division player, more if we're after experience from a higher level, so call it £78,000 basic for one very average player. Add on a £20k signing on fee, which is a low estimate, and we're on close to £100,000 already. Then take win bonuses- ok, we're saving plenty on these at the moment, but supposing we do start to get a few points in the bag- appearance fees, relocation expenses, various other bits and pieces, and that's a large chunk of the Coppell money gone without even thinking about a transfer fee.

Yes we might still have a few quid thanks to the twat Coppell, but I'd rather McGhee waited and used it carefully than blow it all now on some big name Kitson-a-like who will be crap, injured or both, and then find we have not a penny left to dig us out of the shit with. I don't want to end up like Oldham, Notts County etc either.

Do the "Knight Out" brigade seriously imagine there is a queue of eager billionaires waiting in the wings to take over? Or even millionaires? Do you think Dick is the only thing stopping us from being the new Chelsea? Please enlighten me!

Newbury, Berkshire.
So FG reckons we are no bigger than Woking !

Falmer isn't about the people who watch BHAFC at the moment, it's about the potential to attract NEW support, and get the Armchair fan in to watch live football.

This club should easily average 12,000 attendances in this league, and around 14,000 to 16,000 in division one.

But Brighton & Hove doesn't have ONE venue that could accomodate that many people, for whatever event, be it sport, music, conferences or whatever.

What it has is a Council Athletics track with a few temporary stands capable of squeezing in 7,000 people.

Even the Romans could build a better venue than Withdean.

You will find that as mentioned wages have slumped big time and you can get a half decent player pretty dam cheap these days, but i forgot we have shite players on long contracts:lolol:

If the club is struggling so bloody much why offer long contracts to average players????
Surely in our struggling financial surroundings we can't afford such contracts.???

Dick should have said look lads times are hard and you are part of the future,so we will do 1 year at a time and you will get your rewards lads for being loyal.
