Don't know when those matches are, but I doubt they will be for the faint hearted. An 18 Certificate may be required.

Two clubs who have lost a bit of shine in the past 5 years, and have taken to bruising, spiteful play to cover their inadequecies as footballers. I especially used to enjoy watching QPR play (remember that 4-1 drubbing of Man Ure?)

If I was a QPR or Luton fan, I would be cheesed off with the level and style of football served up. Combative is one thing, but being plain brutal and dirty is something else.

Which takes me to another point. Mr Coppell - we are capable of passing. Hitting long balls only to a 5'4" player does have its fairly obvious drawbacks. Can you sort this out, please?

Although I only saw the game on telly from a bar in foreign parts Large One, I can assure you QPR don't always play like that. I think we simply had them rattled - they'd thrashed Blackpool and have high expectations this season, and must have considered us one of their main rivals. I think the way they tried to play us was an inverted compliment, possibly also caused in part by their missing several key players.

At home particularly they're a decent side to watch, keeping the ball on the ground, very fluid - even the centre halves are not just giant cloggers, despite their sizes.

Luton however are another matter. Newell's not the man for the job there, his 'election' to the role sounded dodgy to say the very least. The weird summer they've had has set the tone for a bad season I think.
