There are a few outside the station which are good for a few pints and food, but best to go into town as not too far walk to the ground. Wetherspoons is something not to be missed as it is an old libary complete with books and everything. We couldn't stop laughing in there, and with £1 a pint who can argue.

We are driving up. I think we'll head straight to the ground.

I believe they serve alchohol to away fans at Pride Park.

There is a 'sportsmans' style affair just over the footbridge from the railway station, although UB is spot on, 2 seasons ago on the coldest day known to man, there were a lot of Albion in The Brunswick, and we also had a few jars in the JJB sports bar just opposite, although I think it closes on weeknight fixtures ?

Is there anything near the ground for those who have to drive up and park near the ground?

YES Andrew, there is the JJB Sports complex right over the road, we were in there last time round, but I'm not sure they let away fans in, or there is that Happy Eater/Sportsmans sort of affair just along the road.

Thing is with Pride Park, it is DECEPTIVELY close to town, you can walk along the river path into town (about 10 minutes) or over the railwayline to the station (about the same)

That is what I thought.

But no one agreed with me.

Trust me Andy, we used to have a monthly 'seminar' at Pride Park and would always end up f***ing off into town at lunchtime, its miles by car, but very close by foot.

I CANT WAIT to see us put a few past durby

Th wetherspoons was actually a bank, hence its name - The standing order. There is a very good small underground pub opposite called the Vaults (not to be confused with the Central Vaults, rough as).

Also, a bit further out from there is a great pub called the Blessington Carriage. Off the main square is a pedestrianised street called saddlergate down their the small bar of the Bell is good.

And as mentioned the Brunswick can be highly commended.

Yep, a dodgy penalty.

Their forward pushes Hinsh from behind. He falls over and touches the ball with his hand.

You sound a tad angry, StH - time for your apple-therapy, perhaps? Quick, Nurse, bring an empty forty-gallon drum, half a hundredweight of Cox's Pippins, forty foot of rubber tubing, a primus stove, an apple press, five or six vials of elephant tranquilliser, and a pint glass. Mr Hedgehog needs his afternoon, ahem, "tonic"...
