I'm not the best person to ask. BA are one lousy airline living on past glorious in my opinion. They should change their motto to 'BA, just another airline'. If they just accepted this then fine. But they dont; they still think they're a cut above the rest.

'To Fly, To Serve'? Bit OTT, isn't it? Sounds like a slogan for the RAF in WW2, not someone flying a few tourists to Madrid.

I'm sure what they are banging on about at the beginning (history of aviation) is fascinating and exciting.

That ad makes me want to vomit though.

Very true. I fly Cyprus to the UK and back regularly, and, ignoring the budget airlines, BA are the worst to fly with.

Aegean: Better food, more comfortable and usually cheaper than BA.
Cyprus Airways: Better food than BA and have proper TV/entertainment systems in the seats in economy.

In fact, I can honestly say that in recent years, the only non-budget airline I've flown with that are worse than BA is Alitalia, but they were a damn site cheaper.

BA are not good value for money. For most destinations, you can get better, cheaper.

I'd like to know why BA feel they can make an advert like that though. Why do they think they're so good?

Just makes me nervous about flying to be honest. No way something that big should just take off, madness

Strong in what sense?

Strong as in VERY recognisable.

They continue to charge for a premium service, when all you really get is an average one.

Even with the aviation fuel prices going up 47% in 18 months, they still manage to over charge people for a mediocre service, they get away with it because of there brand.

Being recognisable does not give them a license to make such adverts in my opinion. Misguided self-worth does.

Anyway. Virgin are a better for flying AND adverts.
