I had surgery on a huge cyst on my stomach once under local anastethic, the surgeon asked me what I did for a living and I told him I'm a planning consultant, he looked at me with disgust and said "not the ones who allowed those new flats at the marina- they're going to block my view!!" Never tell anyone your profession before they're about to carry out surgery or dental work upon your person.

It was refused on grounds that the S106 didn't meet a number of standards, and Asda and McDonalds weren't party to it, so it could not be guaranteed that the community works would take place. The Inspector, and SoS approved of the design from my bried read of the recommendation and decision. I doubt it will be the end of that developemtn they'll probably whap another application in with a revised S106.

It's OK for me, I'm a journalist.

Oh.

Re: those flats - are any new flats going to get built in Brighton this decade? In the last couple of years, we've had the ones in King Alfred's, the ones on top of the Old Market and now the Marina turned down. On top of that, the old Preston Barracks is still waiting to be developed - we keep hearing about how the population of Brighton is going to rise dramatically but where are they going to live?
