I used to have a bit of respect/felt sorry for him many years ago, but he's a complete twat as far as I'm concerned now.

He wants to save the planet, yet drives Aston Martins. Why not a diesel that does 60 mpg? Very much a case of, 'Oh, you plebs, look after the planet, but there's no point me doing it as what I do won't make much difference'.

Now chill....:p

wouldnt you ? maybe he uses it to take his organic produce to Market :lolol:

He is a bit of a goon, and he knows it, so what, theres plenty like him !

Hardly news, is it?

This is, after all, the fuckwit who had a degree specially designed for him, was granted a one-to-one tutor and special tuition - and still only got a 2:2.

He's been talking nonsense for years - and will continue to talk nonsense, no doubt. But - that's inbreeding for you.

George III talked to trees and bushes and they had him put away!!!
So little change in the British monarchy in 230 years then!

From the bit of TV I saw the other day George III had a congenital illness, Poryphyria (sp?) which caused his bouts of madness. Key word here is congenital.

True, OTLW. I really should learn to be more tolerant of the mentally ill.

Think I was a revolutionary Froggie in a previous life circa 1789!!!! Would have loved to have seen all those royalist and aristo' heads roll from Madame le Guillotine!

Goon with a capital G

It is so sad that most of the youngsters don't know the genius involved with Peter Sellers, Harry Secombe, Spike Milligan and to a smaller degree Michael Bentine. :jester:

If you were a revlutionary Froggie in 1789, you may have been lucky to have personal experience of Madame Guillotine within a few years. Not many from 1789 made it to 1795.

The large majority from 1789 made it to 1795; quite a few of the leaders, admittedly, didn't make it, but even the majority of those did. And virtually the entire revolutionary non-elites made it to 1795.

Very true Duncan .... but it would have been fun while it lasted!

Okay 15-Love
... ask me a question on slavery in the ante-bellum South, the financial implications of post-bellum freedom in the Carolinas or even the legacy of Jacksonian democracy!

Well, obviously I was talking about the leaders. It was just so obvious I didn't think it was worth saying. Of course.

Hands up all modern history lecturers/teachers ... past and present?
