[h=3]Poyet: Early goal was key[/h]6:15pm Saturday 20th April 2013 in Albion By Brian Owen
Gus Poyet admit Will Buckley’s early goal was vital to Albion’s show of strength at The Amex today.
The winger produced a brilliant curler to send the Seagulls on course for a 6-1 demolition of Blackpool.
Poyet said: “It was probably the key of the game because Paul Ince normally has a very organised team who are very difficult to score against.
“In the last six games they only conceded three goals. They had three clean sheets.
“So when the game goes on and on and you start panicking and you start opening up, they have got quick wingers and they become a little bit dangerous.
“It is always important in this type of game to start well.
"People who were at home or couldn't get a ticket will regret the situation because it was a day to be at The Amex."
Poyet played down any fears about the condition of goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak, who left the action feeling dizzy after a clash of heads with Blackpool striker Gary Taylor-Fletcher.
He added: "Tomasz is okay. He was very brave and it was a fair challenge by both players."
