"The whole notion of suing the Premier League is interesting because you're suing yourself as a club, and the other 19 clubs," said the chief executive of the world's richest football league.

Right, so you buy players, realise you can't afford them so continue to use the player while not bothering to pay the selling club....then sue the League when it quite legitimately uses TV money to pay your creditors?

Keep the embargo in place I say, until they get round to paying their
debts.

because they have the money to pay transfers and attract players if the embargo was lifted? whats the point of complaining about it, really the embargo does clubs in this position a favor.

The club is dying. They are trying every avenue, now including lawyers4U.com to keep themselves afloat. The people at the club believe that administration would be the least of their problems now - if they lose this, then they are almost finished as a club, with the possiblity of doing an AFC Wimbledon to start all over again. The sad thing is that yes, it's a club with lots of history, but they have over-extended themselves - no true foundations to what they were trying to achieve. I don't think they will be the last club to flounder like this either. The clubs with money will stretch further away from those that don't unless the League/FA step in with some sort of control mechanism, such as external financial controls, wage caps, etc.

The last "protest march" from the fans numbered 60. Yep, 60. So much for Pompey fans being the 12th man! 12 people were invited in to Fortress Fratton (see the irony there - I don't think the fans did!) to ask searching questions. One of which was "late and pissed" Westwood, so I don't imagine there were too many searching questions going on there!

I've spent the day with a Pompey STH.
He puts the last 12 months, or so, down to a mafia style money laundering operation.
In the way the 'business' has been turned over between owners, each taking cash out, until there's nothing left, for the last person sitting in the hot seat.
