Could someone please explain to me how a club manages to owe other clubs money for players they have made a profit on? They made a £5million profit on Muntari but still owe £3million. About a £10million profit on Johnson yet they still owe money on him. It doesn't make sense.

They didn't make 10 million on Johnson as they owed money to Liverpool from the Crouch deal.
Obviously the transfer fees went on operating costs rather than repaying debts.
With players like John Utaka on £80000 a week, it's not surprising.

I've come back home.
If a club buys a player and agrees to pay the selling club in lets say three installments, then sell said player on again for a profit later, decide to not pay those installments to the first club and move the sale profit to cover other club debts defaulting on the earlier purchase.

think that is correct and i hope that made sense.
