It shouldn't last long but good luck to them.

They are probably thinking more along the lines only three games played and only three point away from being a quarter of the way to the magic 40 pts which means another season in the top flight.

Pompey played against a team who were top of the league 2 years ago to this day, and finished 18th that season.

Porstmouth have no real squad depth, but they have a bit of money and a good manager. Watch them come about 15th for the next few years.

Don't worry, Sheringham will sit back on his laurels now thinking his job is done for the season, Tim Deadwood will pick up an injury and will be joined by the rest of the old crocks by Christmas. By March "appy arry" will be anything but and Pompey will be heading back to where they belong, the NATIONWIDE.

Meopham, Kent.
Once the old boys at pompey pick up a few knocks there is no-one to replace them. Berger looks superb, but he started like that at Anfield, and it soon fades.

Give it a few weeks and they will start to fall like a stone. Harry will be running up a long injury list, bemoaning the transfer window "harming clubs with small squads."

Keep the faith, they willl go down with Wolves.

Still it'll never last. Pompey will be in free fall once their squad of has beens gets a bit tired.

Anyone remember Carlisle in the 1st (old premiership)? Top of the table after 4/5 games and ended up bottom.

I must admit I had a little chuckle when I saw Sherringham score a hat trick.

Nice one Glen,( I can pick a decent footballer, no really, stop giggling at the back) Hoddle

Good luck to them. Good to see the smaller club doing well. Still think they will finish bottom 3 tho...
