I have come to the conclusion that modern taps and appliances have been designed without a thought to the pressure of water?
And non-return valves on the mains isn't helping?

Many modern taps are also not designed for low water pressure.

Have you still got the noise in the pipes?
Sometimes it can just be a pipe that isn’t clipped properly, the pipe will move and knock against a wall when water is drawn.

Modern taps are rubbish!

Yes still have the noise. It's water hammer caused by new taps/appliances in flat below (they feel terrible). They have shock arrestors. I've had two plumbers out. First one changed my bath taps. Second one installed a shock arrestor under my kitchen sink .... has made F-all difference.
He said the pipes bang in his flat ...... and he's a plumber :lolol:
I was thinking of getting some clips - thank you. Also I'm going to try wrapping foam round the pipes.
Guess I should be grateful to have clean, drinkable tap water tbh.
Oh, I also tried turning pressure down and have tried draining the pipes .... made no difference
Many thanks for listening!
