Plumbers of NSC

Right, so, I live in a shared flat at the top of a three-storey building. Yesterday, the water died, and it is still dead. Problem is, it's fine for everyone else, not not a problem with Thames Water. I've checked the stopcocks and they're all wide open. Is there anything else it could be (I'm thinking something frozen) before I get a plumber involved?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds frozen to me - do any of the pipes run outside the building or near to? If so are they insulated/jacketed?

Truthfully, I'm not sure. Though the fact that no-one else is affected does confuse me somewhat. Just spoken to a plumber over the phone who reckons it is the stopcocks, so I'm going to double check all of them. It would help if a) there was one within the flat and b) they were labelled as to which flat they refer to, but hey!

Do stopcocks close when they are open? How odd - must have blocked or something? Unless a nasty neighbour turned it off?

No they dont. My money would be on a frozen pipe. These can be tricky to locate (unless they burst). I had a frozen pipe on a new house that was run inside the cavity wall. Only did it once, so sold the house.
