Was anyone listening to Five Live on the way back? There was an email from some wanker droning on about that Shoreham harbour development and how it was the only place for the stadium. He ended by saying that Dick Knight had killed Brighton & Hove Albion.

It was obviously one of the Falmer NIMBYS talking bollocks but it spoiled my good mood. It was a shame that his was one of the comments that were read when there were probably dozens of sensible ones.

On a similar note, did anyone listen to 605 on TalkSport when what was so obviously an Albion fan phoned in, tried to put on a West Country accent, slate the Bristol City fans for being quite and talk up the Brighton fans for being loud.

Great work fella!

To the BBC this was a sensible one and being 'fair and non biased' station they felt they had to read it out. Wee bit silly to though :dunce:

It claimed to be from a fan in Worthing who accused DK and the baord of trying to ruin the club as there was an acceptable brownfield site in Portslade, utter Winker

The NIMBY's think they are being slick - and perhaps we might feel for a few of them if they lose their playground or view.

The Shoreham roundabout at the top of Stoney Lane got built while I lived next to the Royal George, and we had to bear with that and couldn't say much to stop it. Progress takes some small sacrifice, and really it won't be that bad in the long run - and so many people's outlooks and lives will be improved by a new Stadium. It's no worse than an office block being erected in their neighbourhood either, where thousands of cars would pour in EVERY weekday and bring nothing else to serve the area .

Falmer has enormous obvious potential for raising esteem and profile, bringing jobs and positive attention to our great City.
The Uni can also use it for sports research and developments, and it might also become an entertainment centre in other ways (olympic events, expos, conventions, concerts...... and etc.).

The plusses far outweigh the minuses, and it's plain as day to anyone with any wisdom whatsoever.

Falmer really is for ALL !
