A man from Brentford has been charged with stealing Eddie Izzards pink beret at a pro EU rally.
Normally, I guess, this sort of crime warrants a caution of the old Bill.
But oh no, the chap has to appear at Westminster magistrates court.
I am not condoning this crime, but surely going to court for this sort of petty crime is a waste of tax payers money.

Your thoughts please.

I think that stealing a pink beret off someone from Bexhill is a serious offence. Many a time in my 20's, I would left The Castle or The Devonshire Arms in high spirits and seen many a beret on many a head, but I would never have stooped so low as to steal one.
