Just wondering if anyone can help, my ps3 has gone tits up, it turns on ok and you can surf the web but the disc drive doesn't seem to be spinning.
Anyone know how it can be fixed or who might be able to fix it? Anyone else had problems with theirs?

My son has got the 'orange light of death' on his.....need to do some research on this I think but am told its fixable.

My PS3 went through a little spell a while ago whereby it would work fine, but then if you took a disc out and put another one in, it wouldn't "recognise" it (ie the disc wouldn't show up on the screen for you to select it). It would play any game or film when you first switched it on no probs, but then try to load another disc straight after and it would have none of it, at least not until it had had a little rest.

I never bothered getting it sorted (as usually I'd just play one game or one film anyway), but it seemed to fix itself without me doing anything, its fine now. I've downloaded a few software updates, maybe that sorted it, I dunno. I was cacking it a bit though, cos its a nice big black shiney one which is beautifully quiet, I wouldn't have wanted a replacement slim one, they look crap in comparison and some of them are quite noisy apparently.
