completely changing the subject Mr Moonraker. Why do Life require ID even if you're obviously old enough? Just wondering like, this cropped up on another thread. I can understand them wanting to check age......but why the need to actually 'ID' people? What benefit does it give to the club?

thanks people.

mr tubthumper by law everyone is suppossed to have photo id, police camera trained on the door too.

however its also a ruse to get the door team to talk to people to see if they are too drunk or arseholes, as you can imagine there are a hell of a lot of arseholes down the seafront on a saturday night and we have rarely any trouble if ever at holdup so the policy seems to be working

Other clubs on the seafront don't seem to ID though. It's not an issue, I'm just curious. The last time I went to Life I had actually forgotten my driver's license. The doorman asked me if I had any ID at all and after fishing around in my manbag for a few minutes I presented my Labour Party card. He's also noticed an Albion programme though. He then asked if I really thought I'd be admitted having let him know I was a Labour Party AND an Albion supporter. He paused, laughed and then let me in though.

But yes, I agree with your assessment that there a lot of arseholes and you do do a bloody good job in filtering them out as I've never seen any fisticuffs in Life (Arc).

Nice one SM, I have been bugging my missus about that for ages as we pass by on the way to work! She said, "Why do you ask on NSC? Someone will know" I said, "I will then!", but hadn't gotten round to it. However, she was being sarcastic! How I chuckled when I saw this!! NSC, a forum of wide ranging information. I thank you.

Went past the lighthouse yesterday as part of the pipe was being turned and towed out to sea.
