Do you know anyone like this? Do you think they cant help it? Or does one lie lead to another and they end up in a total fantasy world and lie without even realising it? dont see the point in it myself.
Thoughts please?

Dont know any one specifically like that. But one of my good mates is one of those very annoying people I like to call STORY TOPPERS. No matter what you have done he's always done it better, faster longer etc very annoying:US:

I used to know somebody who was a habitual liar - he was an absolute areshole of the highest order as the lies that he told where emotional heartstring pullers 'lost his first wife in a car accident' and 'been disagnosed with cancer' etc.

He got his just deserts though - he ended up being sent down for sex with an underage girl (she was 13, he was 40) and he is now on the register so his life is ******. Wonder what he tells people about that?

To answer your question - in this instance he did not believe the fantasy world he was in, he was a nasty manipulative shit who knew exactly what he was doing.

We had a kid at our school who was called "spin on, al" becuase he would start lying compulsively regardless of whatever you were talking about. It became quite entertaining once everyone realised that it was compulsive and inevitable.

i guess everybody has lied at some point in thier life its a part of life thats unavoidable unless your max clifford, some do it to impress or big up a dull situation or simply because they cant help it.. its a strange one because some lies that everybody knows to be a lie become urban myths then over the years false history, example theres no such person as semen stains. One has to go to kerry in eire to sample the best kind of lies, they tell you stuff thats obviously tosh just to make you feel better :) ......excuse me im just going to take my 12 incher for a stroll

I've got a brother in law just like that. If I told him I'd been to Tenerife for my holiday, I just know he tell me he'd been to Eleven-a-reef for his. :tosser:

Try this....

I wise chum of mine once said: "Apparently, 50% of the male population are wankers, the other 50% are liars."

So, is he a wanker or a liar, is it possible to be a lying wanker?
I really can't fathom this one - help please ....

Or. or, we are all wankers but only half of us admit to it, d'oh I don't know.

I've met some real legendary Walter Mitty's; God where to start?
One guy I worked with when asked if he had a good weekend came back with the following story.
"Took the Mrs to NY on Concorde, some guy was mouthing off on the flight, so I decked him. The pilot made an announcement during the flight saying thanks to Eddie for taking care of the troublemaker. Got to NY & went in a bar, got chatting to Eric Clapton & ended up jamming on the stage with him".

Lost for words

I have come across two people like this. Clearly some sort of compulsive lying disorder or something

Ive come across at least 20 people like this, including an ex-albion player, a CofE bishop , half a dozen politicians and a member of the royal family.

Under Your Skin.
This girl i once knew had a quiet an exciting week.

Monday: She tells me her Dad passed away a few weeks ago.

Tuesday: Someone breaks into her school and attacks a teacher. (Police think they might have planted a bomb.)

Wednesday: Her Dad (now not dead) makes her go to school although police are sure there is a bomb there.

Thursday: Her best friend kills herself.

Friday: She goes on holiday to her Villa in Portugal.

Bloody week straight out of Eastenders.
