Stuart Pearce can’t wait to see his England under-21s show their skills at The Amex after enjoying a training session at the stadium today.
The youngsters enjoyed a run-out in bitterly cold conditions ahead of tomorrow night’s friendly against Austria.
They also beat the weather to work out at Ardingly College yesterday.
Pearce sampled life at The Amex and said: “The last two days on the training pitch have been very muddy but it is absolutely fantastic out there.
“The stadium and the whole environment here are incredible.
“I’ve not been here since it has been completed but the training side of it, the facilities, the pitch, the stadium make it an absolutely top class venue.”
Pearce revealed Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha will miss the match due to a dental operation.
Tom Ince is also absent but England, looking for a ninth successive win, have flair in, among others, Nathan Delfouneso, Raheem Sterling and Jonjo Shelvey.
Nathaniel Chalobah, the Chelsea midfielder who impressed greatly for Watford at The Amex in Decemeber, is also expected to feature.
Tickets, priced £10 for adults and £5 for children, remain on sale via seagulls.co.uk, by calling 0844 327 1901 and in person from the club’s ticket offices in Queen’s Road, Brighton or at The Amex.
