PDF Problmes!

Anyone any good at editing in PDF?

Basically I've been asked to make some minor alterations of some Word documents. The file no longer exists but the photocopies do. So, the photocopies have been scanned ok, but they save as a pdf file.

Is there a way to either:

1. Convert pdf into Word and then edit from there?

2. Edit in pdf?

Cheers!

It is basically impossible to reliably edit a PDF file without a full (£100s) copy of Adobe Acrobat.

And anyway, as its a scan - its not a document, its an image saved in PDF! The scanner won't have magically reconsituted the data. The best thing you can do is run it through an OCR programme (Optical Character Recognition) to get the text back and re-format it.

Though even that isn't always reliable... pdf is a horrid format.
