Hello Good People,

Can anyone help I have an old Dell PC with loads of family photos and I want to transfer them to a new PC.

Those from around 2007 and older if I cut then paste to a memory stick I get a message access denied as protected whereas from 2008 I can just cut and paste so what is wrong with these older photos as you cannot mail them either.

Thanks in advance

take the old hard drive out your pc make it to slave changing the clips at the back then put the slave hard drive into the new pc ..
you can then either leave the slave hard drive in as a back up drive or simply slide all files/photos from slave to master hard drive and then remove slave hard drive when finished.
makes sure all is switch off when changing.

Sleeping on the roof
can't you just bung them all in a photobucket account or cloud-based storage and transfer them that way?

One further clue I can open them in Microsoft Picture Manager on the old PC but cannot export them, get access denied message again.
