Junior has done it again

I now have a red circle with a white cross in it in the left hand bottom corner with a message about the computer being infected with a virus.

It won't open and the computer appears OK as I have done Norton check - any idea what is going on here and how I get rid of this ?

I am only concerned with big f*** off mainframes and AS400's.....

You could try and boot it in safe mode and see what is running!

For AS400 think MINI Computer. You have to realise that when you've worked with a water cooled mainframe .....

Actually sounds like what Beachy has is Spyware. Assuming that your Norton definitions are up to date I would go along with Withdean Wanderer and suggest you download Spybot and Adaware (www.download.com) and then make sure they have the latest definitions and run them.

Alternatively BUY or upgrade to the Norton anti virus which like McAfee does protect against Spyware.

Additionally buy Junior a pair of boxing gloves, it'll say your PC and his eyesight and hearing.

have you run Spybot and Adaware?

They want money and as I have Norton shouldn't that protect the PC ?

Which version though ? I have an old version of it (2002) which doesn't bother about Spyware. I've a freebie McAfee which will be loaded after the rebuild.

Never EVER take a computer to PC World! Charged 4-6x what the time actually costs, parts get damaged by staff and need "replacing" when it was a f***ing software issue that it went in with, job is half-arsedly done, and most important

Its f***ing PC World! Its a nasty, nasty, overpriced shithole of a store. Don't buy anything off them, don't use them for servicing, let them rot away selling overpriced Packard Bells to gullible chavs on credit.
