Palace close in on Kolkka

Crystal Palace are on the brink of signing Finland international Joonas Kolkka from Borussia Moenchengladbach.
The Selhurst Park club hope to make the winger their fourth transfer in a week by handing him a three-year contract if he passes a medical.

And Eagles boss Iain Dowie sees Kolkka as an ideal replacement for Julian Gray, who joined Birmingham in June.

"His adviser enquired whether we would free him from his current contract.

"We agreed, under the condition that the basic financial conditions are correct. Then the offer from Crystal Palace came in and we took it."

Kolkka could link up with fellow Finn Aki Riihilahti, who is set to sign a new two-year contract in the next few days.

I don't mind as long as Brighton Rock doesn't disappear once the season starts, I am convinced that Palace are going to be contenders for the worst ever Premiership team and I want to see him clutching at straws as the season unfolds

It will also take my mind off our long hard struggle for a few moments

Depress ?? No way! The thought of Palace in the premiership just makes me laugh! :lolol: :lolol: :lolol:

The bookies are seldom wrong - despite Gareth's rather amusing attempts at proving them so - but on this occasion I think 1/3 are actually pretty generous odds on Palace going down!

Palace are certs for relegation alongside Portsmouth and suprisingly Bolton.

I am absolutely convinced that we shall remain in the Premier League for THREE SEASONS.
