Windies 76/2 but Lara has gone off after getting hit with a bouncer from Akhtar flush on the neck, nasty stuff.

I think he'll be ok, probably come back out again today if needed, he was on 31 from 30 balls, he walked off unaided with the physio but it was right proper nasty!

West Indies win by 7 wickets with 22 overs to spare...

England v West Indies in the final on Saturday, marvellous, beats going to Gillingham!

Very strange decision by Pakistan to bat first. If I was a cynic I would say thats where the money was placed.

In reality, why would they bat first when winning the toss:

1) West Indies openly sayy they have problems setting a total and defending it

2) In English conditions in September, widely known its difficult to bat first at 10:15am

The only thing in their defence is that at the Rose Bowl its supposed to get lower and slower as the day goes on. Either way, very odd decision.

Just thinking about it, if I was Pakistan captain and fancied winning a bit of dosh this is what i would do. Put £50k on Pakistan batting first. If West Indies win the toss they are guaranteed to field first as they can't defend a total. Therefore if I win the toss I elect to bat first - 100% guaranteed win.

but obviously i am not the pakistan captain and Inzy wouldn't do anythign like that though.

Explains their decision to bat first when all around would say field.
