We have all taken Owusu into our hearts as he played a massive part in doing what most thought was impossible and keeping us in League 1.

The rest of the team, for the most part, has shown the sort of form that could potentially give us a play off position at the very least.

I truly believe that sort of form was no fluke. That just does not happen.

Now, do we risk re-building a team set up for the favoured combo of Forster and Murray and hope that they can carry on where they finished off or do we sign Owusu and give him a deserved regular place.

I'm not suggesting that we turn our backs on Murray and Forster at all !!!!

I think I would like to throw Owusu into the mixer too so that all 3 can have a shot at bagging us a load of goals.

I would be very happy if we signed him on a 2 year deal along with Dicker and Borrowdale. I think we could then have our winning formula..... At last !!!!

i think theres little chance that the Murray/Forster combo will be a regular feature, Forster is unlikly to put in 30+ game so more likely Murray/Owusu. which is nice.

Owusu/Forster combo fills me with joy.
Owusu/Murray combo fills me with joy.
Forster/Murray combo fills me with joy.

Just sign the bloke up already (only if the finance is there though!)

I Actually believe craig davies will also come good, once he gets a pre season under his belt and his confidence back I believe he will be a very, very good player
Though I love Owusu I dont think we should offer him a contract if he isnt going to be first team as at his age you need to be playing week in week out

This is a brand new slate from where this last season's crap has been wiped. Give Slade the chance to work with the players that he wants/needs.
Get Lynch back as he hasn't fallen out with Slade and see what he can do
Ditch Forster, sign Owusu, sign Dicker
Play Murray and Owusu up front with Forster on the bench
Sign a winger that can go past people and cross the ball if Cox can't do it week in week out
Get rid of Robinson - give him away to Aldershot if necessary as that's about his level
Get rid of Mayo
I don't particularly think Borrowdale is the right answer - get Richards in on a short term contract till McNulty is fit if his wages are still insurmountable. I know Roy Keane has offed a load of players (including Dean Bowditch but I don't think he's got rid of Richards). I bitterly regret us having got rid of Sam Rents who was a damn good player and is proving that at Crawley
Get Billy Clarke in now he's been released from Ipswich and get rid of Davies
Above all DON'T HAVE BLOODY FAVOURITES that get in week after week regardless of how crap they've played.
We almost went down this season and this must never be allowed to happen again

Are you on drugs?:smokin:
Forster is our best striker on his day
Richards was utter wank and was a liabilitie
Davies will come good with confidence

Drugs ? At times during the last season I would rather have been . . .
Still at least you qualified your statement that "Forster is our best striker" with the caveat "on his day" !! I personally don't think that he'll get too many more "days" - I did suggest he should be on the bench though
Richards was a decent defender - if he was so shite why did we keep going back to Ipswich to get him ?
Davies ? Well we are all entitled to our own opinion and I'll admit i did think I saw the odd flash of what may turn out to be class in his first couple of games but precious little since.
As I say we are all entitled to our own opinion

foster is getting on and cannot be expected to be fit for 90 minutes of every game , murray appears to have a chronic ailment which will hopefully be allowed to clear up over the off season , owusu is already a hero who has dug in for us and scored important goals

keep them all , owusu and murray as first choice with foster as cover.

Bit worried about Owusu's comments about strolling in on Tuesday after a Saturday match for a bit of physio and then starting training on Thursday.

Given that Forster is no younger (but DEFINITELY our most skilled and experienced striker) I can't help thinking that he AND Owusu would represent a luxury.

Would I give Owusu a two year contract on that basis? For all he's done, probably not

Forster still managed to be in the right place at the right time in the 73rd minute of a very nervy game v Stockport...and why?...because he has class.
He can read a game, his positional sense is good and so is
his running off the ball. Like Gary Hart, he has played a lot of Championship level football and that experience is invaluable. I don't care how old he is..he is club captain and would be first name on my team sheet. He runs his heart out for the cause and never gives less than 100%. He also scores goals regularly.
Murray is also a good player ( with a touch of class ) and should get better.
I would like to see Owusu retained and I think these 3 would give us enough options.
My worry is Craig Davies...I keep reading posters on NSC who say he is a very good player, just lacking confidence.
I can't see it and am desperate to be proved wrong...but the evidence is not good. Clumsy, heavy touches and a panic in goalscoring situations.
I can't believe any BHA fan would choose Davies over Calvin Andrew ( but we aint gonna get him ! )

I still cant help but think, if it 'ain't broke, don't fix it. And i can certainly say that that team in the last 6 games was definitely not broke.

After his longish absence, Forsters presence in the last game of the season has shown that he is most definitely worth taking the risk and I'm sure he will deliver the goods for us, even if it is for one more season. I'm sure/hoping he will recover fully from his knee injury and be able to play regularly in the first team so no probs there.

I guess the burning question is, will Murray get back to full fitness in time for the beginning of next season and will he be able to stay fit and not become crocked again. I think that this is such a grey area and on that basis, this warrants the signing of Owusu not just as security, (he has said that he wants to be a regular first choice), but as a first/second choice striker that most definitely has the ability to bag us points.

As far as Davies is concerned, lets see if we can nurture him a bit in the pre-season and let RS try to develop him over the course of next season. He hasn't done much since being here so I doubt we would get a good price for him at the mo... Keep him for a season then review it at the end of 09/10..

As said before, if we get Owusu, Dicker and Borrowdale (I'd prefer him over Richards), the next season couldn't come quick enough for me. We would have a team that could do us proud next season.

I've said it before, Owusu was the perfect man for the job short term because of the injuries to Murray and to Forster, but he's not the answer longer term. Davies is, and whatever you all might think of him now, next season he is going to be a good player for us because he will have settled and he'll be starting the season with us - completely different psychologically to arriving at a struggling club in january. Forster, Murray and Davies plus people coming through the youth team, that's all we really need in my opinion and I wouldn't sign Owusu, I think his wages would be better spent getting another winger to the club.

Murray is best we have, Forster next in line and hopefully his fitness will hold up. Bring on Davies, who with a bit of confidence will be a good player for us, and Owusu would be a good signing but can we afford to give him a 2 year deal? Also what about Hart who many strikers do we need

I don't understand people's seemingly irrational dislike of Davies. He is proven at this level, having scored 6 in 6 for Stockport earlier in the season. He is super quick, has a rocket shot on him, and just needs good man management and confidence.
