Owen didn't get any service against the French- a little like Leon, you might say, but our midget forward still came up with 25 goals.

Owen has always come good when it matters, and I'm confident he will again. His England record is excellent.

It's like McGhee thinking about leaving Leon Knight out of the play-off final because he was off-form. We need a proven goalscorer, and the best proven goalscorer we have is Michael Owen, end of!
