Mercy is a blatant copy of a Howlin' Wolf (aka Chester Burnett) song called " Who's Been Talkin' ".
Take any old blues number and ramble new lyrics over it, record it and laugh all the way to the bank.

I think I've heard 'Warwick Avenue' somewhere before too, but can't nail that one down. So, the chick has some manager coaxing her and creating her, calling up a few old buddies to call in a favour here and there, and it's on your radio as fodder for the masses to buy.

Sorry if you like Duffy, but that's just how this music nazi hears it.

Blunts voice IS unnatural, for that he should be sent somewhere... I'd suggest Iraq or Afghanistan, oh and this time not immersed in an armoured battalion ! just himself and an acoustic. Problem solved.

Duffy is lovely ! she is a rare breed of singer in this day and age in as she can sing words while in tune AND as a bonus people can hear and understand them !
Most "singers" these days mumble,screech or warble excessively ( Yes Lewis, I mean you !)or are unable enunciate. Duffy, despite the handicap of birth (Welsh) and a slightly large arse is a jewel to behold ! Hats off !!
