Yep I went to Croatia a few years ago (when it was still Yugoslavia.

It is (was) a lovely place to visit

we stayed near Pula and apparently the Roman amphitheatre there is one of the best in the world.

would also reccomend the caves at Lippizana????

One persons idea of what is "any good" can be very different to anothers.

I have been to Croatia twice in the last four years.
First in the north including Zagreb and latterly Dubrovinik. The coast line is one of the most beautiful anywhere with hundreds of islands and some very good sailing. Dubrovinik itself was being rebuilt and the walled town is very nice to walk around but we didn't find much in the way of shops / nightlife - but then we didn't look very hard.

Visted Mostar in Bosnia while we were there - well worth a visit for the history there, the bridge (now reopened) etc.

Virtually everyone in Crotia was friendly in a genuine way i.e. not just trying to part you from your money although that may be changing now that more tourists are finding their way there.

Went to that area 3years on the trot. Then the war started. Hmmmm, was it me, I wonder? No more cable car from Dubrovnik to the hills though.

Great place. Clear sea, friendly people (they hate the Krauts). Brilliant ice cream made with fruit (choose your own).

Take a trip to Split and go up the tower, great view.

Had a trip up to the bridge over the Tara Canyon (it was used in a very well known WWII film but my memory ain't what it used to be)

Plitvice Lakes, Lipitza also worth a visit.

went to SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF YUGOSLAVIA on a couple of tours AROUND.

Agree with all of the above, generally beautiful, some great bays, and loads of history

Dubrovnik was easily the most touristy place back in the 80's.

Omar was also good plus Rijeka
