[h=3]Oscar: That win's for Jay[/h]6:40pm Saturday 9th November 2013 in Sport By Brian Owen
Oscar Garcia has dedicated Albion’s latest win to a loyal fan who died in action.
The head coach and his opposite number Gary Bowyer laid wreaths on the pitch ahead of today’s 3-0 success for the Seagulls at The Amex.
Ashley Barnes scored twice and Jake Forster-Caskey also netted to secure a second win on the spin for the Seagulls.
The match was watched by the family and girlfriend of Lance Corporal Jay Brynin, who died in Afghanistan recently.
Oscar said: “I want to dedicate this victory to all our fans and especially to Jay and his family."
He admitted: “It was very emotional for me. He was a great fan of Brighton and I’m very sorry for him, for his family and I wish all the best to them.”
Oscar believes there is still a lot more to come from the Seagulls, who are tenth tonight.
He added: “We need time. It is not easy in three or months to play exactly how I want but I am very happy because all the players are working very hard to do everything I want.
“Hopefully when we have all the squad we can play much better.”
