This must be on of our smallest followings for a Saturday match for years.

Is the football taking a back seat to The Falmer Campaign?
Or maybe our poor performances on the road have now taken their toll on the Fans.

What are your opinions?

I will go to Bristol City this year, but as far as I am concerned that is it. I am not paying good money to see the sort of crap being served up.

I have only missed a handful of away games in the last 10 years and this is the first time I have felt like this.

Third away game on the bounce after 2 relativly easy to get to away games. Bloody long drive. Especially after the game at Luton.

Very poor effort
Maybe people should stick by the players, go to the matches ,sing loud supportive songs which will lift the players and get better results. :nono:

Hmm....

It was a Bank Holiday weekend in May (better weather and accommodation by the seaside)

It was also the most important game of the season because of the relegation battle.

I don't blame anyone for not turning out on Saturday. If it hadn't had been for the Falmer/Valentine demo in Hull, I might have thought twice.
It is the most awful place to get to from the south too.

Was the attendance smaller than at Lincoln?

I sang for 90 minutes!

How many?

More like 75. Can you hear Turkey sing?

It was better when you joined Notters and co-ordinated the singing.

I went to Wycombe and Luton but drew the line at Grimsby. Reasons? (1) Trouble negotiating a pass with the other half. (2) After the performances above, I couldn't get enthused over the prospect of another long drive for limited reward (3) none of my mates were going. I'd imagine im not alone in those reasons.

And David M : Other than Lincoln away in the Cup and I presume Grimsby as I didn't go, they are the only 2 games this season where we have had very limited support. Hasn't made much difference lifting the players so far. As someone mentioned on another thread, the players dont seem to want to win in for us away from home at the moment.

Absolutely! Although it does get expensive with three away games on the trot! I agree the football isn't very inspiring this season though, but as far as I'm concerned, I'll give the team my supporrt, whether or not we're domg well.

The answer is simple...

4500 last season...very important match. 312 last saturday...thrid away game on the trot, people do run out of money! After previous 'crap' performances away from home why travel for hours on end just for a 90 minute match.

I was lucky, I was given a lift and given a ticket. So I wont complain.

It is up to people as to whether they go to games and Cleethorpes in February is hardly the best place in the world. However one thing on Saturday was, we got no ticket stub and if we end up with a scramble for tickets similar to the last game of last season, I do think people that went to games like Grimsby and Lincoln away should be at the front of the queue for them.

Most away fans pick and choose their games. With three on the trot away from home I decided to pick one and chose Luton since it was the only one of the three I hadn't been to.

Sometimes fans do other things on a Saturday! Going to Grimsby was hardly the most exciting destination was it?
