Rushden & Diamonds striker Onandi Lowe could be out for several months after picking up a groin injury in the 2-1 defeat at Bournemouth.
The striker opened the scoring after just 75 seconds at Dean Court, but then hobbled off with a worrying injury midway through the second half.
"He was feeling his groin and he didn't train on Friday but we thought we would get away with it," Talbot told the club's official website.
"It does look bad but we are not sure if it's as bad as it seems. He wasn't able to move in the dressing room and it's a massive concern for us.
"He could be out for three or four months but I don't want to say that for certain until we have it assessed."
