Oldham masdcot Chaddy the Owl won the mascot derby today. Won by a fair distance by the looks of things.

I wish we had a mascot - I'd love to be the bloke in the suit, giving it the wind up and milking the cheers and boos.

I think that we are better off not having one, although the owl was quite impressive when we played them, running the whole length of the pitch on one of the hottest days of the year.

The monkey at Hartlepool was having fun with some of the kids yesterday.

Mascots are good fun for kids but I know a lot of our fans think they're naff.

We used to have a mascot called Bartley the Bluebird, but he was arrested at Bury a couple of seasons ago for fighting on the side of the pitch with their mascot. We haven't seen him since.

:lolol: :) :lolol:

I can't remember the clubs involved exactly - I think Swindon Town might well have been one of them - but I can remember a fantastic brawl on the pitch between a couple of rival mascots a few years ago. It was all over the TV at the time.

And didn't the Wolves mascot get in trouble on several occasions for fighting with his opposite numbers too?

It's obviously a rough, tough business. Albion Rob should make sure he's physically prepared if he wants to be Brighton's mascot.....

It sounds as though it could be better entertainment than some of the games.

I reckon if I was going to be a mascot I would have to be one of those massibe fat characters with loads of padding. Walter the Whale or something. Would soften tyhe blow when I became the punchbag for Wolfie the Wolf and Stoke's Pottermus!:)

Yes, Wolfie the Wolf the Wolves mascot decided to have a punch up with the Bristol City mascots which happened to be three little pigs (you can't make these things up!).

I thought the mascot was quite good when we up there. I'm afraid I have the basic humour that most kids have.

Yorkie, I think you meant to say "good fun for kids and bb..."

I reckon ours should dress up as a Navy Seal, with guns and stuff, and be called Steven Seagull.
