Flipping heck is Oldham the most difficult place to get to by train??
Can't find a way from Haywards Heath that doesn't involve about 50 changes on the way.
Anyone else looked at the best way to get there an what deals are available??

Depending on rail works on the West Coast main line, I would have thought you could go to victoria, then across to Euston then up to Manchester Picadilly. Get the tram to Manchester Victoria and there are loads of trains to Oldham from there.

May be quite expensive though, going through London.

Maybe you could go from Gatwick to Reading and I think they have trains to Manchester Picadilly from there.

This is all off the top of my head though and makes no account for engineering works etc.

When I looked up trains a few weeks ago it seemed simple enought but you need to leave in the early hours. I'm gonna have a detailed search this evening as im gonna get train ticket early next week.

Looks like an early start form HH then to Kings Cross and change at Wakefield for Manchester Victoria. Then train from there to Mill Hill.5 hours 30 minutes though is a long time.
Oh well got to be done I suppose !!!!

You can fly from Gatwick to Manchester for £70 one hour flight each way and 20 minute train journey from the airport to Oldham and free sarnies on the plane!

Those looking for trains. Try Brighton - Manchester. Then Manchester - Oldham. Looks like it'll save a few sleeping hours.

Mills Hill or Oldham Werneth are the two stations you want.

Still got that as the web site - they are now a "not for profit" company called Network Rail.
