OK - Cut The Crap. It's September. Where's The Inquiry Start Date?

Prescott's already been guaranteed an easy ride through Conference with his Falmer non-announcement. With reports of him possibly standing down at the next election, he could quite easily play this thing out til next May and just dump the decision in the lap of his successor. This must NOT be allowed to happen.

If the generally-accepted and to my mind complacent viewpoint is that the club will have a Falmer decision pre-Christmas then an announcement of the start and end date for the inquiry should be imminent. Has a timeslot for the main hall of the Town Hall been booked for example? Who is it that chases the dates up? The club? The council? Does it just come from the ODPM at some random time of their choosing?

The timescales must not be allowed to let slide.

Maybe time for The Seagull Party to start warming up on the touchline?

Why not contact the Planning Inspectorate 3/17 Eagle Wing Temple Quay House 2 The Square Temple Quay Bristol?

They will be the ones with an answer.

I may well do that Yorkie. There's also a 'Case Officer' somebody mentioned on here a while back. If the Search facility was activated I could probably look up their name and phone number. But it's not. So I can't. Anybody got that number handy por favor and any reference number that needs quoting?

Now been given the name and number ofthe Case Officer whom I shall be politely calling this morning. Sort of suspect I know what the answer will be in advance but will dutifully report back later.

High up on the South Downs.
We might get an answer by next summer but even if it's positive the nimbys have the money and the powerful friends to delay the stadium for a couple more years.

Well I was in BensGrandad's pub the other night and I heard some rumblings from people who I obviously can't name that Knight's already been told that the Enquiry won't be until 2006! Knight's trying to keep it secret because McGhee's told him that unless we get a definte answer by 1st April he's leaving anyway (he's already apparently been sounded out for the Celtic job when O'Neil takes over England)

Also the Enquiry will reject Falmer and say we have to play at the Shoreham Harbour. This is common knowledge among my inner circle. Knight doesn't want THAT to get out either as it will make him look stupid.

Is Ben's Grandad the same guy who was wittering away on Harty's phone-in on Saturday about the Albion not having had all of the Cardiff money yet?

Another rumour heard from "a man in the pub".

If I was a Nimby, a Dick Knight hater or a Palace fan, this pub seems like a good place to "divide and conquer".

My view is that we are now very very close to achieving Falmer. At this point the Albion becomes a very attractive financial proposition to local businessmen.

Trouble is, many of these local businessmen also have huge egos that demand that they are also in charge of the club in a "Madjeski/Mandaric" stylee.

Hence the increase in attempts to derail Dick Knight at the final hour - after he's sweated blood for almost a decade - and claim the club for themselves.

Well I just spoke to the Case Officer on the phone.

The dates for the inquiry are not yet decided. The Planning Inspectorate are in negotiation with the council and the applicant (the club) with dates being dependent on the availability of an inspector.

Would that be Inspector Morse, Clouseau or Burnside ?

I just saw Hercule Poirot solve his latest case over the weekend, ( only took a couple of hours too, even with a camera crew in tow ) so he should be free now for the next few weeks if required.
