Chris O'Grady has dedicated his first goal for Albion to fellow striker Craig Mackail-Smith.
O'Grady struck in the closing stages to wrap up the Seagulls' 2-0 win in the FA Cup at Brentford today after new boss Chris Hughton brought him on for Mackail-Smith midway through the second half.
O'Grady told The Argus: "I would definitely like to dedicate that to Macca, because he allowed that to happen. His work before I came on allowed me to do what I do, becvause he worked the centre-halves to the point where the game was open and they were a bit tired.
"He's a bit down, because he didn't have a chance to get any shots away, but all he needs to do is just keep going. I know what that feels like and just keeping your head and keep going will rectify that. He did really well."
O'Grady, out-of-favour under former manager Sami Hyypia, also played a part from the bench in Albion's clinching second goal at Fulham on Monday after caretaker Nathan Jones recalled him early from a loan spell at Sheffield United.
O'Grady, bought from Barnsley in the summer for £500,000, said: "I'm just showing what it is that I do. It's the result of getting out and getting the chance to play some games and just find myself really.
"I suppose in the last 30 or 40 minutes the club, the fans and the players have seen what it is that I do bring."
