A stoppage-time goal dealt Albion’s youth team a cruel blow as they were edged out 1-0 at home against Millwall on Saturday.In a scrappy affair amongst difficult conditions chances were at a premium and the clash seemed destined to end as a forgettable stalemate.
Neither side were able to carve out many opportunities and the Seagulls’ best effort came through a downward header from Glen Rea in the first half.
But just 24 hours earlier Albion’s development squad had poached a late winner to beat their Millwall equivalent; it was Lions who snatched victory this time, with virtually the last kick of the game.
Simon Rusk’s side did create a number of half-chances in the second period but it was a late powerful strike from the edge of the area that gave Millwall the three points.
