Brighton & Hove Albion women recovered from a goal down to beat Tottenham Hotspur in an enthralling match at Wodson Park, Hertfordshire.
All seven goals came in an action-packed second half, with Wendy Martin scoring a brace for Tottenham, while Charley Boswell, Charlotte Owen, Sophie Perry, Jay Blackie and Natalie Grafton (own goal) were on target for Albion.
Spurs had a chance to take the lead as early as the fourth minute when Avilla Bergin took advantage of a defensive mix-up to race through one-on-one with Seagulls keeper Faye Baker, but shot wide of the target.
Albion then tested the Tottenham backline when Fliss Gibbons whipped in a dangerous ball from the left-hand side that cannoned off the crossbar, with former Seagulls keeper Toni-Anne Wayne standing motionless between the sticks.
James Marrs’s side had another chance to take the lead, but both Perry and Charlotte Gurr failed to make a connection with a cross into the box.
The Seagulls then put the north Londoners under a sustained spell of pressure, with Amy Green shooting just over the frame of the goal.
Albion made the worst possible start to the second half, as Martin’s shot from distance beat Baker to give Tottenham the lead.
It did not take long for the Seagulls to respond though as Boswell headed home Gibbons’s cross at the far post.

Albion thought they had taken the lead when Blackie slotted into an empty net only for the linesman to raise his flag for offside. They did, however, take the lead just past the hour mark as Owen latched onto a loose ball inside the box and fired home past Wayne.
Spurs then missed a golden opportunity to level the scores when Bianca Baptiste shot over the bar after being put clean through.
Perry punished Spurs for the miss with a header at the far post from Boswell’s cross, before Grafton inadvertently turned in another Boswell centre for Albion’s fourth goal.
Tottenham still carried a threat going forward and netted their second of the game when Martin scored with another long-range strike in the 81st minute.
Amy Green then came close with another strike which crashed back off the crossbar, before Blackie rounded off an incredible match with a close-range strike to secure three memorable points.
