  • A Charlotte Gurr hat-trick and a Deanna Cooper strike secure the points
  • Albion yet to concede a goal in six games this season
  • The Seagulls extend their unbeaten run
  • Brighton’s third 4-0 win of the season
Brighton & Hove Albion women remain top of the Premier League Southern Division table after a convincing 4-0 win at Plymouth Argyle.
A Charlotte Gurr hat-trick and a strike from Deanna Cooper leaves James Marrs’s side with 13 points from five games, with the Albion defence still yet to be breached this season.
The Seagulls took the game to the Pilgrims straight from kick-off and were 2-0 up inside the opening 10 minutes.
A trademark run and strike from defender Cooper and a superb curling free-kick from Gurr put Albion in a commanding position and the hosts never managed to establish a foothold in the game.
Further chances fell to Kirsty Barton and Jay Blackie before half time, but the score remained 2-0 at the break.

Albion were quick to re-establish their dominance after the restart and scored a third goal thanks to Gurr. The attacking midfielder latched on to a brilliant pass from Blackie and coolly slotted the ball home after 52 minutes.
Blackie had a chance to get on the scoresheet herself just moments later following a fine cross from Amy Taylor, but the Albion skipper headed her effort wide of the post.

But the scoring was concluded just before the hour mark, as Gurr slid the ball in from close range.
The Seagulls had further opportunities to make the scoreline even more emphatic when substitute Kim Stenning was denied by Argyle keeper Michaela Phillips, before Kate Natkiel saw her free-kick clip the crossbar.
Barton had a shot which sailed past the post in the closing stages, but the score remained 4-0 and Albion continued their fine early-season form.
ALBION: Baker; C Cooper, D Cooper, Ashton-Jones; Somes, Blackie (Fox 58), Barton, Leitch (Rowe 45), Gurr (Stenning 58); Natkiel, Taylor.
