Brighton & Hove Albion women’s manager James Marrs is urging his side to bounce back on Sunday after their FA Cup exit to Sporting Club Albion last week.Albion turn their attentions back to the league this weekend when they face C & K Basildon and Marrs stressed that his team cannot afford any slip-ups going into their final three games of the season.
He said, “It is vitally important that we pick up the three points on Sunday.
“The players were feeling low after the defeat last week and we need to put that right this weekend.
“We are going for the title and need to ensure the league is still in our hands come the final whistle.
“Basildon are a strong team that have had a very good first season in this league and we can be under no illusions of the task facing us.
“Any one of five teams can still win the league and the girls will need to maintain their excellent focus to get over the finishing line.”
Sunday’s game takes place at Canvey Island FC, 1 Park Lane, Canvey Island, Essex, SS8 7XP.

ALBION’S DEVELOPMENT SQUAD are in league action against Chichester at Clymping FC on Sunday, kick-off 2pm.Amy Merricks’s side go into the game following a 0-0 draw with Tottenham last week.
Two wins for Albion in their last two games will be enough for the side to claim the Reserves Southern Division title.
Merricks said, “We want to get back to playing the way we know we can, with some crisp, attacking football and improve on last week’s performance.
“These final two games give the girls an opportunity to make a lasting impression ahead of the end of the season.”

HOLLIE OLDING is currently away with the England Women’s under-17 squad for the final round of European qualifiers in Serbia.
John Griffiths’s side are next in action against Iceland on Saturday 26th March, before facing Belgium on Tuesday 29th March.
The team that finishes top of the group will qualify for the eight-team tournament, which takes place in Belarus in May.
ALBION’S ACADEMY SIDE, in partnership with Worthing College, beat Solihull who are affiliated to WSL1 team Birmingham City, on penalties in the National Cup semi-finals.
Valentine Pursey was on target in normal time to earn Albion a 1-1 draw, before the side recorded a 5-4 win in the shoot-out.
The team will now play Accrington in the final on Wednesday 4th May with a venue yet to be confirmed.

ALBION’S CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE have no games scheduled for Saturday, but an under-14 team will play a side from East Pennsylvania on Friday.
